Blush Photography

I waited 5 months for nikon to release the camera I was on the wait list for. Patience isnt one of my gifts I was like a child waiting for christmas, the fall leaves screamed for a shoot…but I still didnt have my camera. The day after thanksgiving 2007 I got it! I feel so blessed to have the people in my life I did. They pushed me and helped build my confidence saying…”yes brooke you can do it.. you want it so do it” It took me years to get the guts to give this dream a shot. I was to afraid cause if I failed at it …I couldnt tell myself “one day”! well I did it and Im so excited to keep learning and growing. My Life for the last while hasnt been easy. My kids and my pictures have been my saving grace. I think the lord knew that this would help me stand strong and has blessed me, I give full credit to him.  I cant wait to see what happens in year 2, I have big goals. 

here are a few pics of my very first shoot with my kit kat. …..scary learning your setting in manuel and the edits are the original edits. hahah super scary! To anyone working on their dream just spend your hours and it will come. I promise!  I had been playing with ps before I had my camera so I did have a little bit of a head start there.

To answer some recent emails I have gotten. I shoot with a nikon d300 dont skimp on your glass, I dont use a lot of actions, I own some but my look is achieved for the most part in ps cs3. you get sharpness and clarity when you pick your light well. the coolest spot in the world wont ever work if the light in there stinks I do use a reflector sometimes only if its needed in full backlighting. and I think thats about it

I shot a family who has 3 beautiful girls. One being that senior with the red lips and all 3 have magical eyes, almost scarey !  anyways here a preview..and I swear yes they are that blue and the senior…..with the red lips, hers are lime green with a blue rim! its nuts

it was a hard song to find something to play on here so its poor quality but this is what Im listening to today!
Giving thanks even when your life seems to have little to be thankful for…..theres more than you think.
I drove home tonight and it hit me… its holiday season! the smell of snow/cold, almost all my houses in my neighborhood have lights up and cars parked outside of everyones houses cause its gathering time. I hope everyone has a wonderful happy holiday season!

I dont do a lot of studio so its a change of pace I wont be using it much only for newborns in the winter time.

I love this family! they were so great, but I did spend about 3/4 the time chasing this sweet little girl. she loves her daddy so I have soooooo many cute candids  not posted of her clinging to him! heres what we got! lets hope I get another shot at her when its warm
